Wine and Smoothies

Smoothies

Give a kick to your Saturday pool day with a blended fruit smoothie. Mix honey, ice and 2 cups of a cold but sweet white wine. Our Viognier would pair perfectly with an Orange and Raspberry blend.  Throw in a sprig of mint and have yourself a refreshing poolside thirst quencher.

Ice Cream

Requires an ice cream maker but did you even know this exists? What a surprise for guests to receive next to a slice of chocolate cake. Blend 1/2 cup milk, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/2 cup red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon) and pinch of salt.  Slowly stir in 1 cup heavy cream, set in your ice cream machine and let churn 1 hour until smoothly thickened. Voila!

Marinade

Blending 1/2 cup red wine (Zinfandel) with a 1/4 cup soy sauce and a few freshly minced garlic cloves gives you the perfect red meat marinade. Let marinate a whole day for tenderized deliciousness. Heat grill to high and BBQ.  Salt & pepper to taste.

    Crepes

In the same pan that you sautéed chicken & garlic, simmer Sauvignon Blanc until volume reduces by half, add 2 cups heavy whipping cream, 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until sauce is thick enough to coat a metal spoon, add chicken and Portobello mushrooms for 2 minutes, serve on top of cooked linguine.

Curl up for movie time or a good read warming yourself with this easy to make red wine hot chocolate. This decadent blend is made with a 1 ½ cups milk and 1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks. Whisk over medium heat until fully blended. Once thickened, pour in 1 cup of Cabernet Sauvignon and let the blend heat thoroughly. Top with whipped cream, pair with a blanket and good company.
